BIO

Rodrigo Colindres, aka Magro, was born in Guatemala in 1991. Since childhood he has always found art to be his best form of expression, beginning a course of study in visual arts at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba in Argentina. His research develops a strong reflection on human consciousness in modern society. Surreal atmospheres and experiences of deep psychological healing are depicted in his works, reconciling the division between the external and internal worlds. Magro takes an analysis on the body, given by his working influence as a tattoo artist, to recognize in vitality the most intimate and surreal perspective.

BIO

Marco Dotti was born in 1997 in Milan, where he lives and works. He attended art high school and later enrolled in the Faculty of Sculpture at the Brera Academy. After receiving his bachelor's degree, he had the opportunity to learn about a new way of experiencing sculpture, thanks to meeting the sculptor Mauro Baldessari and his works. Dotti's work is characterized by a feeling of immersion, where the sculpture seems to come to life, as if the artist were embodied in the material itself. Each trace left on the surface of the clay is not just decoration, but a testimony to a profound action that involves both the body and the soul of the artist. Sometimes, through the gestures, images, words or sounds emerge which are not the artist's own, but which seem to come from other dimensions, like echoes of other worlds seeking a way to come to light. In this process, sculpture becomes a conduit for a transcendental experience, where the boundary between self and work becomes increasingly blurred, leaving space for a new form of artistic communication.

BIO

Carla Cohen's work speaks a language of bold shapes and textures, based on structures of high-contrast graphic forms. The multilayered mixed media explores connections between form and line, pattern and color. Cohen's process is highly improvisational, responding to the materials at hand and intuitively bringing order and structure to the various elements. His process begins with line work, a foundation for the many layers of abstract forms that will follow. Often incorporating transparent layers of hand-printed papers, the artist creates an experience that allows the viewer to explore what lies beneath the surface, thus exposing the story of the work. In this way he engages the audience in excavating the mystery and narrative of his work, seeing beyond the surface and finding the deeper connections in the many layers.

Denny Candotto, born in Palmanova (UD) on March 17, 1997, is an architect. His research spans product design, collectible design, art and architecture, approaching each project as a creative and recursive process that goes beyond drawing and results in the gesture that shapes matter. For him, art is a tool that expresses sensations, tensions and content, opening the gaze to new signifying worlds. His syntax includes suspension, missed balance, and dynamism, with the use of chiaroscuro, concentrated colors, and plastic forms that give life to evocative microcosms.

Laura Montuschi, born in ‘97, has spent the last few years exploring her artistic vocation as a means of expressing what she feels. Her works speak of moods, pain and inner torment. They are fragmented bodies, split between skeleton and flesh; anguish, however, is transformed into a creative spirit affirming the will to exist, which Laura expresses using techniques such as photobashing, wax pastels and digital painting.

BIO

Darkelrafi is Raffaele Sperandeo, born in Naples and living in Milan after a long time living in England and Germany. After a life in marketing, his passion for photography began in 2020 as an inner journey made of darkness, chemistry and love. “If we really wanted to look for a common thread among Raffaele's shots, trying to define his poetics, then we would have to lay on the canvas magical landscapes and portraits, dreamlike visions and macroscopic images of flowers, because all of these investigate and suggest his 'emotional geographies.' There is no straight line connecting departure and destination, but rather an intersection of different worlds: feminine beauty, the passage of time, the wonder of a primitive world, and, finally, home to finally find peace.''

BIO

Erika Allia was born in 1997 in Catania, where she currently lives and works. In 2022 she obtained a First Level Degree in Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania, where she is currently attending the two-year Photography course. In his artistic research, the self-portrait is the means with which to access hidden places of his own interiority and highly intimate environments. The predilection for the square format of her photographs alludes to a claustrophobic space within which she now moves delicately, now lies motionless, revealing herself in whole or in part, as if to highlight her desire to escape from mental spaces in which she does not recognise herself. Even when she does not appear explicitly in her work, Erika Allia focuses on details and atmospheres, stimulating deep reflection on human relationships and our understanding of intimacy in a chaotic world.

BIO

Lorenzo Lanfranco, born in Turin on July 27th 1998, grew up in the town of Poirino and driven by a great passion for drawing he studied and trained at the Pinot Gallizio art school in Alba. He then studied drawing and inking techniques at the international school of comics in Turin. After this last training stage, curiosity and the need to express himself through a broader medium arose, turning his gaze towards the world of painting. His artistic research blends elements from the world of street art such as the use of bright colors, words and extravagant subjects, with dark and sometimes dystopian atmospheres from surrealism. This unusual artistic conception aims to tell the story of man's condition in modern society, highlighting the difficulty of relating to our deepest fears and emotions.

BIO

Clelia Rachele Rossi in art SANA was born in 1997 in Milan, attended the Liceo Artistico and later graduated from the Scuola del Fumetto in Milan. During these courses, in addition to acquiring manual dexterity and learning the basic rules of drawing, she began to search for a personal graphic style that started from the need to visually represent inner feelings and sensations that reside in people's private dimension and that the outside world cannot reach. He tries to make these inner worlds visible by emphasising facial and postural expressions, often deforming and simplifying them, or to make the inner parts of the characters external and visible by depriving them of the protection of the skin and exposing them to the outside world. The main techniques used in the operations are: black ink where they alternate black and white, solid and solid colours, creating images with strong contrasts, where the light shining on the scene is direct and the shaded image distances the viewer from the realistic scenarios, bringing their gaze back to the inner world. The second most frequently used technique is acrylic, applied with swirling brushstrokes that seek to evoke emotional moments from which it is difficult to escape.

Born in Catania in 1995, he lives and works in Catania. He obtained the second level Diploma in Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania in December 2024. Part of his artistic research focuses on the investigation of mental illnesses through photography, portraying himself and his mother. Through photography he intends to break down the taboos that revolve around mental illnesses and make them a more accessible topic, but above all to highlight the sensitivity of the matter. Another part of his research, at the moment, focuses on the representation of travel and nature, themes that are of vital importance to him. In 2023 he placed among the top twelve at the Ragusa Photo Festival, a national competition that sees the participation of students from various academies throughout Italy, entering the catalog with the project “Viaggio all’interno della psichiatria”.

BIO

Born in Thiene, the artist has dedicated himself in recent years to an in-depth research and study on the topic of winter ceremonial masquerades. This interest translates into works that, through the use of oil painting on canvas, capture the essence of these traditions, creating images of great visual impact. The considerable dimensions of his works, combined with a bold and vibrant use of color, give an extraordinary scenic character to his creations, inviting the observer to immerse themselves in a world of celebration and rituality. The core of his work is the creation of works that portray various aspects of the carnival ritual. These include auspicious and propitiatory dances, winter masquerades and traditional begging rounds. Each piece is the result of a careful aesthetic investigation, which aims to accurately and respectfully represent the costumes, habits and landscapes typical of the studied cultures. The artist thus manages to convey not only the aesthetics of these traditions, but also their profound meaning and the social context in which they are inserted. The themes addressed in his works invite the observer to reflect on moments of "celebration" as spaces of creativity and freedom, where the dimension of non-productivity contrasts with the frenzy of daily working life. These representations, full of symbolism and meaning, emphasize the importance of dedicating oneself to art and the celebration of life. The scenes that the artist creates are inspired by travels across Europe, where he has had the opportunity to immerse himself in the folklore of various countries. Each experience enriches his cultural and artistic baggage, allowing him to tell unique stories through painting en plein air, a practice that allows him to capture the nuances and local atmospheres in real time.

BIO

Antonino Cuccia, class 1999,is a photographer from Palermo and operates in this same city for his photographic production. After abandoning his studies in "Communication Sciences for Cultures and Arts", in 2022 he decided to devote himself entirely to photography, guided by the desire to communicate his personal emotions through the representation of dreamlike and introspective situations, halfway between surrealism and mysticism, which very often see the human presence immersed in scenarios that are both melancholic and solitary, as well as monumental. Thanks to the profound exploration of the relationship between the human being and the monumentality of nature, coined through studies on the concept of "Sublime" by Edmund Burke and Immanuel Kant, the environmental portrait is the main focus of his research.

BIO

Born in 1999 in the outskirts of Milan, Fabio Parisi graduated in architectural design at the Polytechnic of Milan, where he was won over by photography as a technical means to direct his creativity. He continued his studies in landscape architecture, while photography gradually became something more and more significant. As a completely self-taught photographer, he has always tried to find a safe and univocal way to create his images, trying to combat his creative disorientation, a theme that, together with his personal experience, has inevitably been reflected in much of his production, where the interest in the material concreteness of reality and the desire to know it clash with confusion and solitude. The sense of waiting and isolation that he experiences at the moment of the shot is the creative compass that also defines his interest in terms of scenes, atmospheres and subjects. Geometries and surfaces build non-places where disorientation is the destination.

The essence is an evocative work that manifests itself as a scented wooden door emerging from a mound of earth. This door, however realistic and tangible, is useless: it cannot be opened. It appears in space as an island in the middle of a barren land, a destination at the end of an inner journey in search of self and essence. The door to 'the essence' is a metaphor for the existential journey. It represents the effort and commitment invested in the construction of a self that, in the end, remains inaccessible. The journey to discover the mechanisms of life is similar to wandering the sea and the land under the endless sky, day and night. It is an odyssey that requires one to go beyond the senses, to attempt to open an impossible door. In the space where the door emerges, the barren land suggests a destination reached after a long wandering. Yet, this door that stands before us, which we may have built ourselves with great effort, cannot be opened. This impossibility raises a profound question: does an essence really exist? Or is it all a mirage, an invention of our mind in search of meaning? A scent emanates from the wood of the door, a natural essence that permeates the surroundings. This smell is intense yet ephemeral, suggesting a presence that is both real and elusive. Perhaps, the essence we seek is not something to pass through or possess, but simply to perceive. Perhaps it is just an intangible scent.he essence sfida lo spettatore a riflettere sul significato della ricerca interiore.

The Cast-aways sculpture series explores the theme of the sinking of a natural form through the use of lead. These works are castings of pieces of branches, transformed into reliefs projecting a few centimetres. Presented flat and slightly raised, the sculptures cast a shadow or darkness beneath them, creating a visual effect of depth and weight. Lead, with its density and rough appearance, is used to evoke gravity and force that pull the branches downwards, like inert bodies adrift. This aesthetic choice is not only a visual reminder, but a tangible representation of the shipwreck of a natural form, which loses its lightness and vitality under the weight of metal. Cast-aways is a visual meditation on disintegration and loss of form. The sculptures invite the viewer to reflect on the fragility of nature and its ability to change under the influence of time and the elements. This series, with its powerful materiality, offers a profound reflection on shipwreck as an existential condition.

Breaking up/apart

wood, iron

140x60x50cm

To leave, to disperse. Composed of two parts, one in wood and one in iron, this work represents two entities that separate and disintegrate. The wooden part is a trunk that, rotten on the inside, has been burnt on the damaged side, leaving the other side with its natural colouring. The trunk, twisted and disorganised, vulnerable and fragile, emerges from the combustion of lived experience. The iron part, made of welded and electrode-burned sheet metal, is patinated black on the inside. The blackened surface and rough appearance of the sheet metal contrast with the strength and hardness of the iron, suggesting a similar duality of strength and weakness, suffering. The two parts, placed opposite each other, are mirrored in form, like two separate halves that move apart but remain linked by a profound visual and conceptual bond. Both halves show the burnt side to the other, revealing their own scars and vulnerability, the fire that united them. It is a silent dialogue between two forms, two souls, two flames that have met, loved and burnt together, and that now disperse in space and time. Breaking up/apart is a reflection on separation and disintegration. The sculpture represents the pain and beauty of loss, the transformation that occurs when two once united entities break apart, taking with them the traces of their meeting and burning. It is a meditation on the complex nature of relationships.

inFusione series

lead, iron, wood

var. 41x36x140cm

Including supports

BIO

Maria Orfano was born the 25th August 1995 in Arona, a small town on Lake Maggiore. In 2020 she completed her scientific formation obtaining a master's degree in civil engineering, at Politecnico di Milano. In her early adolescence she started to be interested in painting as a self-taught artist and she carried out a sporadic pictorial activity, whose main themes were still lifes and landscapes. In August 2020, after what she herself defines as "a sort of epiphany", she decided to completely overturn her approach to art, so she started to create works through the use of commonly used objects, combined with studs, which are the main trait of her new poetics. Thus the new personality of Acrylicneeds was born. Her main purpose is to show a distorted vision of nature, in order to create contrasts and to overturn the concept of the object. The main themes addressed by the artist are loneliness of human beings, existential distress and the desire for isolation from the outside world. With a provocative attitude, the compositions of Acrylicneeds want to invite to introspection, asking the viewer to change the point of view with respect to reality.

BIO

Natalia Martìnez was born in Burgos, Spain. She studied Art Restoration in her hometown, completing her studies in Fashion Design in Milan, the city where she settled for a period of her life. Through her experience in fashion, she became interested in different textile materials from an alternative perspective: ribbons obtained from cut fabric. The union of her passion for tailoring and her previous studies led her to a love for precision and repetitive manual work, as well as increasing the importance of color in processes. Thus was born her passion for masks, an object that has been present since the dawn of humanity. Her works are created through the crochet technique, which she wanted to elevate to a more complex and free level, getting rid of the consolidated flat patterns with traditional and natural fibers to give life to the possibility of improvisation, transforming the flat knit into three-dimensional with a sculptural approach through ribbons, fibers and hardware materials, considered less noble and waste. This experimentation with the technique led her to the study of irregular and intangible faces. Her work is approached with the precision of the profession and the utmost spontaneity, bringing her into a dimension that combines art and craftsmanship.

BIO

Ylenia Pigozzo, also known as ipsilonpi, was born in Como, Italy, in 1988. She is a self-taught painter, since 2011. She has always experimented with various techniques and media, but her style has been abstract from the start. After a deep and transformative period in her life, she felt the need to share her art and focus all the energy on a personal project. She couldn’t continue her life as it was and art saved her. This is how her studio took shape. It’s currently based in the countryside near Lake Como, but it is a traveling studio, an idea that fits perfectly with her lifestyle. She has always created wherever she felt inspired, in every corner of the earth. This will be the philosophy: her studio is the world. She describes her art as being for travelers, because each artwork is a story of inner exploration or a trip to distant places, inspired by her traveler’s feelings and dreamlike visions, especially in this era of disconnection from our soul and nature. Her paintings are made of textures, colors, emotions and hidden stories. Follow the journey!

BIO

Marta Grimoldi is a photographer who graduated from the European Institute of Design in Milan in 2012. Since then she has always worked on her own for small web newspapers and for private individuals, at the same time she actively participated as an artist in events in the Como area. She carries out projects that concern her personal experience; Passionate about art since she was a child, she then studied at the Terragni art high school in Como where she came into contact with photography, a means of her, for her, to give vent to her imagination. At 17 she borrowed her father's analog camera and started taking photos: photography has always been a means of freely communicating her ideas. After a trip that lasted months in Spain, she realizes that she wanted to talk more with herself through photography, something personal. In her opinion, in fact, the silence and ritual behind every single personal shot is magical. She attended a course with Simona Ghizzoni and Cristina Nunez. Later Ghizzoni, would become her tutor for the Ground
Glass project.

BIO

Mauro Valsecchi was born in Milan in 1992. He began his studies at the Enrico De Nicola Art School in Sesto San Giovanni, Milan. Subsequently he began a course of study in artistic disciplines at NABA, New Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where he obtained a three-year degree in Fine Arts (B.A.), specializing in Painting and Visual Arts in 2014. He concluded his training at NABA with a specialist degree in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies in 2018. His artistic research revolves around the perception of reality and the visions of everyday life which manifest themselves as imaginative projections; in his works he tries to bring back that wandering of vision with minimal lateral glances, to distract himself from the already completely interpreted world that he is watching, and find a thrill of perception that reopens every time, to let unusual images arise from accidental appearances that no one ever usually observes. All the drawings he produces do not have an illustrative imprint but maintain a strong relevance to realism. Over the years he has developed a particular drawing technique which involves the use of colored powders and pure pigments, which are pressed with tips or dragged with a smudge to mark the paper, finally fixed with a lacquer or a fixative spray. This technique makes it difficult to sketch subjects and places from life, so he made up for this technical complication by taking textual notes which then turned into drawings from memory. Finally, his need to give a three-dimensional body to these designed surfaces: to move the canonical point of view, to be able to go around them, to lower or tower over the user, to play with perception to fuel a vision. For this reason, drawings, texts, everyday objects and photographs often become sculptures, installations, which occupy other spaces besides that of the wall.

Born in Milan in 1988, he enrolled at the University of Milan where he obtained a three-year degree in
cultural heritage sciences and concludes his student career with a master's degree in visual arts and curatorial studies at NABA (Nuova accademia di belle arti). The area of investigation of his research revolves around the concept of transformation understood as a constant state of impermanence and insecurity. Federico's art is articulated through different mediums: sculpture, painting and alternative printing techniques in a repeated search for an aesthetics of extraneousness aimed at creating images that evoke an idea of distance from their surroundings. The concept around his works is the reflection of the human being in continuous relation to this state, elaborating images that are a reflection of habitual survival strategies. All the subjects he treats revolve around this conceptual core, recalling fossilised forms, excluded from becoming.

Marco Sperini was born in 1998 in Teramo. A self-taught painter, he began painting in an attempt to give shape to the dreams that tormented him. Over time he became fascinated by surrealism and psychoanalytic studies.
His painting hybridizes dreamlike forms with waking bodies, creating constructions that proliferate in a timeless space. His studies as a physiotherapist and osteopath not only allow him to further explore and study the body, but also act as a stimulus for a deeper exploration of the human condition. The synergy between his training in manual medicine and artistic training creates a representation of the body characterized by a profound complexity, far from "true" anatomy and mere scientific vision.

BIO

Mary Claire began young life with paper and art supplies always in hand. She thus attended Winthrop University to study Fine Arts with the intention of being an artist but with no real direction or voice. After a brief deviation from her passions to study law, she returned to art once her kids began to grow up. As both a practicing lawyer and artist, she finds the left brain/right brain blend improves the way she handles the tasks she is faced with. Being a Lawyer is relentlessly analytic, and she finds it lends her the ability whilst painting to make careful selections in mark making, value, color, and composition. This allows her to achieve a very specific result while editing the intuitive painting strokes; that are the very essence of her creative pursuit. The result is a beautiful balance of intuition and thought in each piece. Mary Claire grew up in the countryside in South Carolina and spent much of her youth hiking and wandering in the woods. She now draws much of her artistic inspiration from this passion - which she continues to practice. She seeks daily solace walking in the forest either alone or with her dog and kids. Her current artistic practice seeks the same sense of wonder and magic she feels when there. She is interested in creating a distinct mood and emotion within each piece, to create a dialogue with the observer and bring the collector’s vision to life.

He has a graduation degree in "Academy School of Fine Arts" and been working in the art scene since the early nineties. He’s had solo and group shows exhibitions around the world. His works are part of public and private collections: “Museu da Cidade de Aveiro” collection, Aveiro Portugal and "SPACE" by Mazzini collection. Museum of Contemporary Art. Venice, Italy. “I believe that art is experience and expression of the soul and gives me the opportunity to deal with thoughts, with signifiers, and the accidentality of creative work." He's basically mostly entertained by sacral symbols, baroque ornaments, fine arts, literature. "The plenty of details, the incomparable simplicity and otherwise the complexity of it all, is a true inspiration and precious material for his artwork, a kind of cornucopia."

BIO

Jane Thompson was born and raised on a farm in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, Australia. An avid explorer, Jane has lived and workded in many places throughout Australia, including Broken Hill, the Kimberleys, Canberra, Sydney and now Brisbane where she lives her with two young children, one husband and one mischievous Beagle. Jane’s artwork is vibrant and full of moving energy. She is inspired and fascinated by the energy we create as human beings through our emotions, our intentions and our experiences. By tapping into the space that exits between thoughts, the active state of creating for Jane is conversely almost meditative, where she allows her sub-conscious to intuitively make the decisions and show her the way. Preferring to paint with no rules, no boundaries, no expectations and no plan of what it should be, the end result is a complete surprise to Jane. Through her brisk approach, deliberate use of contrast and expressive gestural marks, Jane’s art evokes joyful optimism, personal reflection and bold inspiration. Her paintings are colorful, imaginative, expressive and spontaneous. And the process absolutely always involves music.

BIO

Lynette Reed arrived in northern Italy from her home state of California, February 20, 2020. Over the coming days, reports of COVID-19 increased and very quickly, the word “lockdown” became part of our every day vocabulary. Delta Airlines followed swiftly and began canceling flights, so Lynette found herself stuck in Bassano del Grappa. “It was a terrifying time,” recalls Lynette “As I have always created, I knew the best way to get through it was to find something to do with my hands. What I didn’t realize was painting was about to open an amazing world to me and become my obsession.” She started painting religiously every day populating her canvases with lively or moody hues forming lines and shapes off all sorts that together created harmonious and abstract landscapes.

BIO

The Passenger aka Barbara Ludovina Basile was born in Milan in 1991. She studied Fashion Design and graduated at NABA (“Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) in Milan in 2014. The Passenger started her artistic career as digital illustrator and over the past few years she’s been experimenting with a different kind of illustration, more coloured and traditional. In her artworks, she transfers her personal world made of transgression, rebellion, sensuality and a bit of suffering. Her experience as illustrator allowed her to understand the most hidden side of life, paying attention more to the subject than the background. Often dark, it is more like a wall or an immersive hole where the fragility of the body and its naive beauty shine through. Her artworks are deeply autobiographical: in each subject, it is possible to find a piece of her, even though faces and features are different and belonging to people she never met. Songs lyrics appearing on the composition as to remember a past life, tell about feelings and emotions, where bad choices, insomnia and melancholy are the main characters.

BIO

Born in Verona in 1996. She attended the art school (Scenography class), then she entered the three-year photography course of studies at the LABA in Brescia and she graduated. She's always been drawn to photography as an artistic method and as a means of expression. In her research, there is attention to composition, color and light. It all tends towards a personal style that she has tried to develop over the years. The main theme that returns in most of her artworks is nature, which comforts her by creating a direct connection between itself, the camera and herself, as if the photographs were an extension and were going to investigate the invisible relationships that are created.
